TRINITY SCHOOL
Menlo Park, California

The Trinity School Enrichment Center features exposed steel structural members detailed to exacting standards. The freestanding terrace roof is supported by cantilevered pipe columns embedded into the concrete structure on which it rests. Inside the classrooms, the bottom of the steel framing is revealed between acoustic baffles, resulting in a modern sort of coffering. Intricately detailed seismic joints separate the various structural systems, and the concrete terrace and steps join the elements into a cohesive spatial entity.
