This coastal pavilion is meant as a meeting place and sales office for future residences to be built on the remote Hawaiian site. Designed to be re-used afterward as part of the common buildings of the development, the whole structure can be removed from the supporting wood columns and transported en masse. Constructed of lumber selected from the trees on the property and pre-assembled for fit in the contractor’s offsite warehouse prior to transport to the site, the pavilion represents a blend of careful planning with elements of ancient and modern construction techniques from multiple cultures.
