Atherton, California

The structure of this large, classically designed single family residential complex in Atherton must support thick Bulgarian stone veneer and heavy slate shingles while offering maximum opportunity for clear spans and window openings to the surrounding gardens and patios. Working closely with the architect, we developed the structural design and details to merge seamlessly into the architecture without interrupting the desired forms and spatial relationships. Support of the various classical elements such as balustrades and pediments was also thoroughly detailed and carefully indicated in the structural drawings.
